Fall time in Fruita

It is apple picking time!!! There is no better way to spend an afternoon than picking fresh apples with your kids right off the tree. It never ceases to amazing me at how good God is. He has created everything we need to survive. You forget until you pick a fresh apple off a tree and bite into it. It is just crisp enough...just sweet enough...just enough. This is also the time of year when we start to get crazy over all the holidays. The time of year that is supposed to be full of joy yet most of us spend it in worry. Worry about if we will have enough money to buy all those Christmas presents. Enough money for a big turkey...will we have enough?

In the last few weeks I have been spending time in the elementary schools helping children that do not have enough. They go to bed hungry. Their parents are in jail. Mom may be on meth, dad is gone. They go to bed thinking if they will have any...not enough. Isn't that a huge difference? They just want any. One little girl danced as she opened up a backpack that we provided her. She opened it up to see enough food to get her through the weekend. Just enough... One boy said, "is this really for me"? He didn't care that is was generic mac-n-cheese, he was pleased with any.

Like I said, God will always provide for these kids needs...it just might be through you. Have you felt it on your heart before? Have you thought of helping? Now is the time. Leaves are falling and a new year is just around the corner. So, do you have enough? Maybe, just maybe...do you have any that you might be able to help? Go find a child and change the world!
